Meter Monday - no news is good news

Hello Monday!! I didn't have a good title to add, hence the goofiness up top. What was I up to this week?
1. I got all the way through my manuscript adding changes to my villainess and a few other various things, so that's round one of revisions done!!
2. I started round two which I'm calling The Mother Mission - basically it involves bringing my main character's mother more to life and revising the plot arc in the story involving her. This may take me a while as it's a pretty big plot arc, but I have a good feeling that it'll make the story stronger.
3. Read two books - The Lookingglass Wars by Frank Beddor and The Year of Secret Assignments by Jaclyn Moriarty. Look for reviews (and maybe a surprise) soon.

Well, that's about it for this week. May not seem like much but actually I feel like it's progressing along quite well. Also, I'm putting in a little plug for Vee's awesome 100 followers contest, cuz you know I like to get extra entries and all. She's offering up a book and a 50 page critique!! She's a newly agented author so I think both prizes are highly valuable - be sure to take a look at her blog.

Now for my question of the week - I've been reading many many reviews lately, and I feel bombarded with all the great choices out there, so I'd like to hear your opinion. If you were to recommend any one YA book to someone, published within the last two years, which would it be?

can't wait for the upcoming reviews :)

Hmmm, one book. I'm assuming you've read The Hunger Games? (I assume that of everyone, really) If not, get thee to a book store/library NOW.

So, that didn't count...

best book I've read in a long time: Stolen by Lucy Christopher. Just. Whoah. Messed with my mind and the writing is so good I feel intimidated on a whole new level.

and... jokes :) don't get me started on book recs. mel asked me once and I think i sent her an essay in reply :)

Yep, read Hunger Games. I'll put your other book rec on the top of my list. :)

The third book in the series (entitled, The Mockingjay) comes out next month! So that will be something to pick up. Also, if you haven't read Paper Towns yet, I recommend it. I'm not even done with it yet, but it's a male mc and it's quite humorous. I've had some real laugh out loud moments.

As for Nomes, essay on books, I still have it and can send it to you if you like :-) THANKS NOMES!!! :-)

Wow...if I get through one book in two weeks I'm doing super well. Fantastically productive, you are! (whoa...when did Yoda show up?) Can't wait to add all these amazing books to my list. As for my recommendation, I'd have to say Going Bovine by Libba Bray. Loved, loved, loved it and like Nomes said about Stolen, GB intimidated me on a whole new level. Yeah.

Mockingjay is definitely already on my list. I read Paper Towns, and I think I'm the only person on the planet who didn't like it. I've heard good things about Going Bovine too. Ok, off to craft my master list. :)
